Pilates for Scoliosis

Pilates for Scoliosis

Work 1-on-1 with a Pilates Trainer that has a degree and Pilates Certification and also has additional training in working with clients with Scoliosis from Karena Thek developer of Scolio-Pilates® Program.

Who can benefit from this?

We recommend this program for a variety of clients with scoliosis.  Young children or young adults learning how to work with their bodies with scoliosis as they are growing, adults that have scoliosis and are exploring another option perhaps you have used braces or had surgery and you are looking for a way to exercise that helps alleviate some of the complications you may be experiencing from your curved spine.

Our goal is to help you achieve a more neutral spine through exercises that elongate, support and strengthen your body.  We want you to feel in control of your body and that you can make an impact on how your body is impacted by scoliosis.

Specialized props for scoliosis

Balance for Life is fully equipped with equipment and products made especially for clients doing Pilates with Scoliosis.  These props will assist you in getting you comfortable and elongated and in the proper position during your sessions with a trainer.

What will I do in a session?

You will work one-on-one with a Pilates Trainer with specialized props and the trainer will also give you exercises to do at home between sessions.  A session will consist of creating a more neutral spine using the custom props and wedges, utilizing breathe within movements and holding positions, provide elongation, strengthening the spine, create fascial and muscle memory to allow you to know how to correct your positioning to sustain closer to a neutral position.
