Certified Pilates Instructor
Bonnie began her explorations of the integration of body, mind and spirit as a child dancing with the Andahazy Ballet Company in Minnesota. After graduating from high school, Bonnie moved to New York where she continued to study dance every day while also completing a B.A. in Anthropology.
In 1999, Bonnie began to study for a Master’s Degree in Dance Education at New York University. Around this time she was injured in a dance rehearsal and was introduced to Pilates by her Physical Therapist. Pilates transformed Bonnie’s dance technique as well as her mind and spirit. She quickly realized the great trans-formative potential of Pilates and was determined to become a certified instructor.
Bonnie was guided in her study of Pilates by Michele Larsson and Virginia Nichols. And, in 2007, Bonnie received her Pilates Method Alliance approved certification through Core Dynamics Pilates in Santa Fe, NM. She then began teaching Pilates in Arizona. In June of 2014, Bonnie returned to Minnesota to be near family.
Bonnie has a lot of experience working with clients with injuries. She particularly enjoys working with each client to set individualized fitness/wellness goals. Participating in the process of helping clients identify their needs and reach their goals is why she is so passionate about Pilates. Bonnie is also very conscious of how clients may come in each day with different needs and readily adapts sessions to help meet clients right where they are at in the moment. She also has a passion for teaching group classes. Her approach is to create and maintain a positive and challenging group energy while helping each participant to feel successful as well.
